Alao Kung Fu of Vermont
Alao Kung Fu of Vermont
Welcome to Alao Martial Arts Academy, founded by Robert Chandler (Si-Gung Alao) and instructed by his son Robert Bride. We are a Filipino family of martial artists with over 20 years of experience. We offer men, women and young people instruction in the Hung Gar style of Kung Fu, and Philippine Escrima (stick fighting). Sifu Robbie’s mission is to improve the lives of young people and adults by developing greater self-esteem, healthy bodies and strong, focused minds.
Why Choose Kung Fu and Escrima?
We teach Kung Fu and Escrima because they build confidence, increase athletic ability, and improve the health and self-esteem of our students. Together they create an exceptional martial arts program which result in superior students--who become unstoppable after learning these skills and techniques.
Benefits
Engaging
Class structure is engaging, fun, and helps support learning and retention of new information. Our methods of teaching increase concentration, reduce stress, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Our students learn to practice and study which supports good habits at home and school.
Physical Health
Kung Fu is based on scientific principles that strengthen the heart, regulate blood pressure, improve lung capacity, aid in weight control, and increase muscular strength and flexibility. At Alao you will become a more formidable opponent by developing speed, flexibility, force and technique in addition to good health.
Personal Power
Our goal is to remove the roadblocks in your life through martial arts. Kung Fu is a means of self-development through self-discipline, internal and external power, and agility. Students grow in self-esteem and self-confidence by discovering the different animals of Kung Fu-- tiger, crane, panther, snake and mantis--through powerful and fluid forms.
Safety
A knowledge of Kung Fu and Escrima will help you or your youngster stay safe from physical harm in our ever changing world. You will have the skills to protect yourself when faced by danger, and learn how to avoid injury if confronted.
